Test DPC

Test DPC is sample device policy controller for use with Android for Work. This allows developers to see how their app behaves within a management context or management profile, such as the device owner. This app is for development purposes only. It is not intended for production use.

This app is designed to allow app developers to test their software prior to initial release. If you are a normal user, this app is of no use to you. It is not intended for production use and the app should not be used with real data.

Test DPC App for App Developers

This app allows developers to see how their app works in the management context of a managed profile. Users can set up work profiles, enable work apps, set application restrictions, manage security policies, and more. That said, all of these features are great for developers and testing new apps.

This app allows app developers to monitor various behaviours of their apps in a managed context. Managed contexts include:

• Device Ownership
• Managed Profile

Here are some other administrative functions that Device Ownership Management Profile users can perform with Test DPC:

• Set Work Profiles
• Enable Apps to Work Set
• Restrictions for Specific Applications
• Manage Security Policies

Test DPCs also act as injection references in relation to other DPCs. The source code of Test DPC can be found on git hub.

Consideration

• After uninstalling the software, the test DPC remains within the app manager, causing unnecessary battery drain.
